How I Help
Selling your home
Preparation, photography, and marketing built around what sets your home apart, with pricing grounded in years of banking and market experience.
Buying a home
Clear guidance from first showing to closing, including the questions to ask about older homes, flood zones, and financing.
Historic & Architectural Homes
From French Quarter townhouses to Frank Lloyd Wright's Fountainhead, homes with a story need an advisor who understands how they were built.
About Douglas
Hi, I’m Douglas
Where I come from
I grew up in southwest Alabama, where people still believed a handshake meant something and where your last name carried far more weight than your résumé. My grandfather built homes. My father built homes. I've spent my life building trust.
How I work
Before real estate, I spent years in banking as a commercial lender, mortgage executive, compliance officer, and President and CEO of a federal credit union. I learned that people weren't simply asking for financing. They were asking someone to believe in them.
Notable Transaction
Frank Lloyd Wright's
‘Fountainhead’
I represented both the seller and the buyer when Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian house in Jackson, Mississippi, passed to the Mississippi Museum of Art after nearly fifty years with its previous owner. The sale drew coverage from The Wall Street Journal, Elle Decor, and Homes.com.

Find out whether the home sits in a local historic district. Exterior changes in the French Quarter are reviewed by the Vieux Carré Commission, and many other neighborhoods fall under the Historic District Landmarks Commission. Check the flood zone and insurance costs early, and plan inspections that look closely at older wiring, plumbing, foundations, and termite damage.
